Fradswells 1st car boot sale!
August

Fradswells first Car Boot Sale!
The aroma of freshly cooked sausage and bacon sandwiches wafted round a very sunny Parish Field as 10 stall holders and a good number of browsers made for a great first car boot sale.

A number of stallholders asked if we could make this a regular event, - look out for next years Programme of Events!

Unfortunately, a number of our wooden 'event' signs were taken from their 'direction' positions by the roadsides over the weekend. If anyone knows of their whereabouts - let us know!

Total profit for the village hall £78.50

July

On a beautiful sunny evening at the beginning of July many Fradswellians enjoyed a convivial evening of dancing and fun at the Fradswell Barn Dance. Many thanks to Bridgette & Colin for the use of their wonderful barn, everyone who worked tirelessly selling tickets, decorating the barn and on the night, and special thanks to Sue Calhaem for organising the event.

Easter bonnets and eggs

Easter Saturday was the most gorgeous sunny day and it was lovey to see families walking to the hall, children chattering excitedly, ready for Easter fun.

Soft drinks, fizzy pop and wine kept everyone cool as we all joined in the hunt for eggs, with most people leaving the hall clutching a slightly warm easter egg!

Irish night

Fradswell was awash with Irish Stew! A great night which raised over £300! Thanks to everone who bought tickets for the evening and those who so generously donated prizes and bought tickets for the raffle, which was drawn by probably the only Irish person in the room, Mr Hughes from Weston!

It was a really fun night, with enough Irish Stew for seconds for us all. Tims irish whisky tasting stand was a great success ...(and definitely helped improve his irish dancing!)

Beer Burgers and Bingo!
November

Beer Burgers and Bingo!
Thanks to all of you who turned up on a really wet, miserable night. Luckily, inside the hall it was anything but miserable! It was brilliant to see new faces, as well as our much valued regular supporters, and especially good to see so many younger people in the hall. The bingo was good fun - especially the Irish Bingo and was very popular with everyone. The hall was well filled and we've already been asked when we're doing another Bingo night! Thanks for supporting, and thanks to everyone who worked hard with food, bar and clearing up. Very much appreciated.

October

Wine & Supper night
A really great evening! We had 6 wines supplied by Old School Wines of Tittensor, who also supplied tasting cards, a tremendous selection of local cheeses, all donated by local cheesemakers:

Bertelin Farmhouse Cheese (Ellenhall, Staffs)
Guernsleigh Golden Cheese (Leigh, Staffs)
Greengate Deli ( Stafford)

All this, as well as antipasta! Many thanks to all who supplied products - we really appreciate it.
Thanks to all who turned out to clear away the next morning. We all had one thing in common - bad heads!
Something went wrong with my camera, sorry, but I just had to put this one up of Kath 'chilling' even though the quality is poor.

July

Paintathon

This took place on Saturday afternoon (4 July) and we were heartened and delighted by the number of villagers who turned out to help.

The Village Hall Committee would like to thank the following people for help with the project:

Alan of Heritage Roofing & Building Services for a donation to paint fund

Barry of Barry Dore Change Solutions for a donation to paint fund

Focus DIY, Uttoxeter for some great discounts.

James of ATE Truck & Trailer Sales Ltd for use of vehicle and disposal of refuse.

Jeremy of The Greenhouse People for donation of materials.

The kind donations from the above mean that the actual cost to the Village Hall for the redecoration was only £4.

We also give huge thanks to all the individuals who came along, worked tirelessly and with great enthusiasm all afternoon, and left the village hall totally transformed both inside and out. You should all feel very proud of yourselves, and your service to the community. Thank You.

A visit by the ice cream van delighted everyone, as did the cakes and Carols Elderflower Cordial which were all on sale. (Following requests, Recipe Page now on website - send in your fav recipes)

Curry Night

What a brilliant night! The evening was a sell-out, with 80 people enjoying great food supplied and served by Shaffers of Stone. We had lots of comments from people about how good it was to socialise within the village. As you can see from the photos, the hall looked great once it was decorated. We intend to make similar events a regular feature of the future and would welcome your feedback on the Curry Night and ideas for future themes.

Thanks to the Bragg family for the use of their sound equipment, the bar staff for all their hard work, and everyone who put in so much effort to make the evening great.
